Red hails from small town Aurelia, IA, graduated from Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD with a bachelors in Sociology (Criminal Justice), and has since lived in the greater Sioux Falls area with her German Shepard working as a Nationally Registered Paramedic. She played high school volleyball, basketball, softball, track, and dance. In college, she played basketball and rugby and has continued to play most of these sports for the past 18 years. She’s new to football, but loves staying active, promoting female athletics, and making “crazy” a competitive advantage.
Her ability to learn the ins and outs of football techniques and strategies and her wingspan and determination to wall off running backs and knock down passes continues to make her irreplaceable. Red is headed into her second season as Team Captain, Offensive Tackle, and Defensive Tackle. She earned herself a reputation as a Bulldozer in our Red specialty play calls for her knack for running over defenders and picking up the hard short yardage gains and her ability to pound through offensive lines to put pressure on quarterbacks as a Defensive Tackle.
Offensively, Red was part of the Offensive Line crew who achieved impressive yards-before-contact stats on run plays and shifting pockets on pass plays. Defensively, Red finished the season #11 in our Division for pass deflections and made it on the Top 40 short list for Tackles in our Division – coming in at #29 with 12 tackles and one tackle for a loss.
Red has been a respected player with a knack for getting the team focused and motivated. She’s a big voice and plays with big effort. We’re proud to call her our teammate and leader. Thanks for leading the way, Red – we’re grateful for you!
