#87 Jessie Ahlers

Jessie grew up in Raymond, SD and now lives here in Sioux Falls, SD working for the Freeman School District as the Special Needs Director and head coach of the Freeman High School volleyball team.  She’s always been active in sports (volleyball, basketball, softball, and track) and is now a successful head volleyball coach.  She’s still active in softball, volleyball, and riding her horse.  Jessie has enjoyed the close knit Sioux Falls Snow Leopards teammates/family and wanted to spend another season by their side on the field. She also believes in perseverance and that it is immensely important to show that women can and WILL make a statement in a male dominated sport.

Jessie finished last season as Tight End, Strong Side Linebacker, and Kick Returner. She earned herself the Golden Spoon title for her stellar run blocking and mismatch speed at Tight End, her determination and drive to pick up significant YAC yards on pass receptions, and her immovable force as a linebacker…as well as her quick hands at the team-favorite card game Spoons. Last season: Offensively, Jessie lead the Division in Receiving with a season total 155 receiving yards on 15 receptions in four game.  She averaged 10.3 yards per catch, with a season long of 27 yards and 2 touchdowns (#5 in the Division).  She also lead the league in 2-Point Conversions with a season total of 3. Defensively, Jessie was #6 in the Division in Tackles with a season total of 34 tackles, including 18 tackles for a loss, 1 pass deflection, 1 interception with an additional 29 return yards, 1 fumble recovery, 3 forced fumbles (leading the Division in Forced Fumbles), and 5 sacks (also leading the Division). It was no surprise she was awarded Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2022.

Jessie has been a consistent, strong, relentless player on both sides of the ball…with countless wow moments.  She’s done everything asked of her by the coaches on the field and more.  She’s a powerhouse and we’re glad she’s on our team. Thanks for sticking with us, Jessie – proud to have you back!  #TogetherWeRise
