AJ Stabe: Position Coach

AJ is in her first season as LB Position Coach for the Sioux Falls Snow Leopards Women’s Tackle Football Team, but she is no stranger to the game.

AJ was born and raised in Akron, IA but currently resides in Sioux Falls, married to Tommy and living with their dog (Sam) and two cats (Sqwonk and Gremlin), and working as a skilled laborer.  AJ grew up playing football with older brothers and neighborhood kids, played volleyball and fast pitch softball in high school, and rugby for the University of South Dakota.  AJ joined the Sioux Falls Snow Leopards last year to get back into competitive sports and loved the fact that in football everyone has a role to play and teammates must rely on each other to win. As a rookie, AJ’s versatility and teachable attitude quickly earned her offensive positions on both sides of the ball, as a reliable H-Back blocker and pass catcher and OLB. AJ finished the season #4 on our team and #13 in our WFA Division for tackles with a season total of 21, including 4 tackles for a loss, 1 QB sack, 2 interceptions, and one pass deflection.  Her defensive play and reliability earned her the nickname “The Boom” and the end-of-season “Most Improved Player” award.

This season, AJ has shifted from playing for the Snow Leopards to an H-back/Y Position Coach and LB Ast. Position Coach for the Snow Leopards.  AJ continues to be an even-handed addition to our coaching staff, a quick learner, competitor, encourager, and a respected contributor to the team.  We were proud to call her our teammate and now coach. Thanks for sticking with us and believing in us too, AJ – so pumped to have you on the coaching staff! Welcome to the coaching side of the team, AJ! #TogetherWeRise
