Sioux Falls Snow Leopards women’s tackle football

The SFSL was established in 2021 as the first professional women’s tackle football team in South Dakota and proud members of the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA). The WFA is the largest and most competitive women’s tackle football league in the world, with 60+ teams in the United States and Canada. The Snow Leopards currently rosters over 30 female athletes, and we compete in the WFA’s Division III level of play with many of the best teams in the nation.

In our inaugural season we notched several achievements, playing in four states (as far away as Portland, Oregon and as close as St. Paul, Minnesota).  Ten of our players were awarded All-American honors, and one player was awarded First Team All-American honors and invited to play in the All-American Game in Canton, OH – exciting honors for our first season!

Who We Are

We are committed to providing an inclusive, welcoming environment for players, coaches, fans, volunteers, vendors, and our community. The Sioux Falls Snow Leopards take pride in having women of all shapes, sizes and athletic ability as part of our team.  Currently, our ages range from 18-48 years young and size from 120 pounds to, well…a lot more than that.  We are mothers, daughters, grandmothers, wives, girlfriends, PAs, vet techs, daycare administrators, teachers, stay-at-home moms, personal trainers, military veterans, students, warehouse workers, and much more.  We are family first professionals who come from all kinds of backgrounds but share a love of football, and a passion to inspire our own daughters and other girls in the community to pursue their dreams. We are hoping to see female gender barriers removed and women empowered by this and other athletic and professional opportunities, and we have come together as one team and one family.  Together we rise!
