South Dakota’s first professional women’s tackle football team.

We are South Dakota’s first professional women’s tackle football team – the Sioux Falls Snow Leopards! We are proud members of the Women’s Football Alliance (WFA), the largest and most competitive women’s tackle football league in the world, with 60+ teams in the United States and Canada. The Snow Leopards currently roster over 35 female athletes, and compete in the WFA’s Division III level of play with many of the best teams in the nation. We are now recruiting for the 2025 season!

Snow Leopards football players still enjoy being groundbreakers for female

As photo-journalist Sam Tastad found out, it’s been a very empowering experience to be ground-breakers for other women who might want to play tackle football. “If you’re not inspired by watching what they do, I don’t know, you may not have a pulse. They come from their full time jobs, they are dealing with life, period. And come out and go to practice and then on Saturdays,” said Sioux Falls Snow Leopards head coach Manny Gutierrez.

“We are women coming together to empower other women in a sport we never got a chance to play growing up,” said Jen Reinke. “This is life giving to me and to all the other moms on the team and it is our release to come out to be active and hit things and take some stress out of things, but it’s really camaraderie.
