Snow Leopards football players still enjoy being groundbreakers for female athletes

As photo-journalist Sam Tastad found out, it’s been a very empowering experience to be ground-breakers for other women who might want to play tackle football.

”If you’re not inspired by watching what they do, I don’t know, you may not have a pulse. Yup, yup, that a way. They come from their full time jobs, they are dealing with life, period. And come out and go to practice and then on Saturday’s,” said Sioux Falls Snow Leopards head coach Manny Gutierrez.

“Women coming together to empower other women in a sport we never got a chance to play growing up,” said Jen Reinke. “This is life giving to me and to all the other mom’s on the team and it is our release to come out to be active and hit some things and take some stress out of things but it’s really comradery. Snow Leopards are excited to get new season started Saturday at Omaha

The Sioux Falls Snow Leopards open their season this weekend. It’s the first of 6 regular season game for the Women’s Professional Football team. They play all of their home game at Harrisburg and games were really well attended last year. They made the Division III Playoffs last year and are hoping to improve on that this season…Read more.

Snow Leopards fueled by last year’s playoff loss to advance further in the playoffs in 2024

4th-year Women’s Pro Football team made playoffs in 2023. The Sioux Falls Snow Leopards open their 4th season Saturday in Omaha. This Professional Women’s Football Team took a big step last year when they made the playoffs.
